Port State Control sends early warning on sulfur cap compliance

DECEMBER 21, 2018 — Port state control authorities are sending shipowners a signal on the need for compliance with the rapidly approaching global sulfur cap. The requirement for a maximum sulfur content of 0.50% m/m for marine fuel oil will enter into force on January 1, 2020. In Emission Control Areas the sulfur limit will be 0.10% m/m.
