UK Oil & gas firms to spend £200 billion to extend North Sea life

Oil & Gas UK published its ‘Business Outlook 2019’ which highlighted the fact that the UK will have to spend £200 billion in existing operations and new opportunities  to add a generation of productive life to the UK North Sea basin.

The Business Outlook 2019 thinks of the investors as cautious because of the uncertainty in commodity markets. In the meantime, the forecasts present a conservative outlook for prices.

North Sea output to decrease due to Ekofisk maintenance

Rystad Energy forecasts that oil production in the North Sea will decrease by 330.000 bpd month-on-month in June as Ekofisk shuts down for planned work. It is expected that the production will remain stable through April 2019, prior to dropping 80.000 bpd in May, Milan Rudel, analyst with Rystad Energy’s Oil Markets team reports.
