General cargo ship SORMOVSKIY 48 is aground since around 0500 Moscow time Sep 21 on Azov – Don Sea Channel west of Don river estuary, Azov sea. The ship loaded with 3202 tons of wheat is en route from Azov port to Samsun, Turkey. MRCC Moscow reported grounding only today Sep 22, adding that a tug was sent to refloat freighter, but as of 1400 Moscow time Sep 22, no tug is around yet.

Unplanned deployment of free fall lifeboat alongside vessel

As IMCA informed, there was an unplanned deployment of a free fall lifeboat (FFB) on a vessel alongside, which no one noticed.  There were no witnesses to the incident, but a crew member noticed the boat in the water and investigation began.
