As trucker protests at the U.S.-Canadian border finally disperse, fears the movement could spark similar protests at the U.S.-Mexico border have proved largely unfounded.

The Biden administration closed U.S. borders to unvaccinated and partially vaccinated Canadian and Mexican truck drivers Jan. 22. Canada announced similar COVID-19 vaccine mandates on cross-border truckers beginning Jan. 15. Mexico has no vaccine requirements.

Port of Mobile enjoys container volumes growth in January

Port of Mobile in Alabama, US has handled 47,768 TEU in January, which represents a 17.5% year-over-year increase with the reefer sector achieving a 21.5% jump compared to January last year.

At the same time, the Intermodal Container Transfer Facility (ICTF) volumes grew 167.9% handling 2,579 TEU.
