US imposes further economic sanctions on Iran

The US Treasury Department announced additional US sanctions against Iran, in response to the state’s missile attack against a US air base in Iraq, making now trade with Iran in almost all industry sectors off limits for US, as well as non-US persons.

A new Executive Order informs the additional sanctions may be imposed against any individual owning, operating, trading with, or assisting sectors of the Iranian economy including construction, manufacturing, textiles, and mining.

Addressing heat-related illnesses

The American Club recently experienced an increase in illness claims regarding heat exposure. In order to supply a loss prevention response to this trend, the Club collaborated with Wise Health Inc. American Club PEME: Most medical issues linked to diet

The American P&I Club shared figures on its PEME program for 2017-2018, noting that most medical conditions observed were lifestyle related, attributed to seafarer’s dietary habits.
