The first quarter of 2025 ended March 31. Now come the first earning reports of the new year as well as guidance for the remainder of the year. Check Call: Tariff watch Round 3, the big one

Another month has passed, which means it’s tariff watch again. The forever will-they won’t-they has returned. Basically everything from the March tariffs that lasted two days will still be in play. The roundup of March tariffs was 25% on Canada and Mexico, 20% on goods from China, and 10% on Canadian energy. Check Call: DHL looks at the global freight market

DHL has released a study looking at global trade for 2025 and how U.S. trade policy may impact it. The findings in the “DHL Trade Atlas 2025” report offer plenty of uncertainty on global trade and the U.S. as most trade partners wait for possible tariffs of varying percentages to take effect April 2 or be extended again. Check Call: Broker transparency heads to court

The fight over freight broker transparency has hit the front lines again, this time in the form of a lawsuit between Total Quality Logistics and Pink Cheetah Express LLC. Pink Cheetah claims that TQL hasn’t followed the broker transparency rule in place.

Check Call: Tariffs finally arrive in US supply chains

The day that seemed it would never come has arrived: Tariff Day. As of Tuesday morning, 25% tariffs are imposed on most goods flowing into the U.S. from Mexico and Canada. As of right now, the only exception is Canadian energy, which is facing a 10% tariff.

Tariffs were originally supposed to start in February, but the leaders of Mexico and Canada were able to negotiate a 30-day pause as they strengthened their border presence to crack down on fentanyl coming into the U.S.
