Aurora Innovation is adding freight giant Schneider to a growing list of fleets testing its Aurora Driver autonomous trucking software.

“Understanding more about an autonomous future is the logical next step to build a network that continues to deliver the best service for our customers,” Rob Reich, Schneider executive vice president and chief administrative officer, said in a press release.

Aurora signs up truckload carrier Covenant to work on autonomous technology 

Aurora Innovation Inc. has signed up its third truckload carrier this year to partner on possible deployment of its autonomous vehicle technology.

In the latest transaction, Aurora (NASDAQ: AUR) said it had agreed with Covenant Logistics (NASDAQ: CVLG) on what it described as a “collaboration to explore ways to optimize Covenant’s long-haul operations with Aurora’s autonomous trucking product.”

Covenant expects strong freight market for 1st half of 2022

Covenant Logistics Group management expects earnings in the first half of 2022 to be the same or higher as the first half of 2021 but anticipates slower earnings growth the rest of the year.
