Hackers leak data from trucking firm Cardinal Logistics

A ransomware gang has posted data stolen from Cardinal Logistics Management, a North Carolina trucking and logistics firm with a fleet of over 3,100 power units specializing in dedicated transportation services.

Cardinal Logistics would not confirm to FreightWaves that it had been targeted in a ransomware attack, calling the incident a “data event.” Private equity firm H.I.G. Capital, Cardinal’s owner since 2019, did not respond to a request for comment.

USCG issues guidance on commercial vessel cyber risk

In a regulatory update, ABS Group reports that the U.S. Coast Guard has issued a new work instruction (USCG Work Instruction CVC-WI-0270), providing guidance on the USCG commercial vessel compliance program’s approach to assessing cyber risk on vessels.

5 days later, Rand McNally says ELD system back online

It took almost five days, but the Rand McNally electronic logging device (ELD) system is largely back online.

The company announced midday Monday that soon after midnight, the DriverConnect platform “became available and operational for drivers.”
