For more than 10 years, Dunkerque-Port has pursued a genuinely proactive policy in favour of sustainable development of the port. Implemented in 2014, Dunkerque-Port the roll-out of the Structural and Sustainable Development Plan (PA2D) defines and supervises more than 150 operations. Number of ships using LNG, scrubbers to increase from 2020

DNV GL provides an overview of the ships that use LNG or scrubbers. Namely, currently there are 318 confirmed LNG fuelled ships, and 141 additional LNG ready ships. As for scrubbers, the total number of ships with scrubbers for 2019 is 2947, which is also expected to rise from 2020.

Sinopec aims to produce 10 million tonnes of LSFO by 2020

Carnival emits 10 times more emissions than all of Europe’s cars, study reports

Global Shippers forum is against slow steaming

The Global Shippers Forum (GSF) commented on ITF’s Transport Outlook 2019, noting that sustainable solutions to the environmental challenges faced by global shippers need to be found, without stifling economic development.

Matson starts installing scrubbers to meet 2020 sulphur cap

Honolulu-based ocean transportation company Matson, Inc. announced it has begun the installation of scrubbers on six vessels deployed in its Hawaii and China-Long Beach Express services, as part of its strategy to reduce fleet emissions in line with the IMO’s 2020 sulphur cap.
