Rail blockade ends in Chihuahua, Mexico

After more than 60 days of protests, a railroad blockade in the Mexican state of Chihuahua has ended, according to the Confederation of Industrial Chambers of the United Mexican States (CONCAMIN).

The release of the tracks in Chihuahua took place Sunday, several days after the Mexican government reached a deal to settle its water debts with the United States.

Ford Mexico CEO asks Mexican government to quell railroad blockades

Héctor Pérez, CEO of Ford’s Mexico unit, said Monday the Mexican government should do more to stop ongoing railway blockades across the country.

Rail blockades over the summer affected operations at Ford’s Hermosillo, Mexico, plant, and ongoing blockades in Michoacan state could also affect imports and exports to and from the United States.
