COVID-19 response boosts Deutsche Post DHL’s Q2 profit

Frank Appel, CEO of Deutsche Post DHL Group (OTCMKTS: DPSGY), said the German logistics company used its diverse services portfolio to outflank the coronavirus pandemic and significantly increase its second-quarter profit.

The company’s preliminary pretax profit for the quarter increased 16% to 890 million euros ($1 billion), compared to 769 million euros ($868 million) for the same period last year.

Schottel supplies propulsion system for new editorial ship

Germany’s first editorial ship — The Pioneer One — is equipped with a Schottel propulsion unit. Built by the Lux-Werft shipyard in Niederkassel, the vessel was recently handed over to Berlin-based media company Media Pioneer. As a “floating editorial hub”, it will provide a workplace for around 30 journalists.

Nord Stream 2 Receives Approval for Gas Pipeline Link

  • Denmark has approved a request from the developer of the Nord Stream 2 gas pipeline.
