Hapag-Lloyd, new Europe-America prices

Hapag-Lloyd announces an increased Ocean Tariff rate for all cargoes in 20’ and 40’ General Purpose (incl. High Cube Container) as well as 20’ and 40’ Reefer Containers on the Atlantic Westbound trade from North Europe to North America.

Valid for sailings commencing on April 1, 2019 onwards and until further notice, Hapag-Lloyd’s Ocean Tariff rates from North Europe to North America will be:

  • Standard Container
  • Reefer Container

Hapag-Lloyd cleared of U.S.. DoJ probe

Germany’s Hapag-Lloyd is cleared of a U.S. Department of Justice probe into the practices of container shipping companies, with no charges brought, a spokesman said on Tuesday, Feb. 26.

“Hapag-Lloyd was informed that the U.S. Department of Justice, Antitrust Division is closing its investigation without charges against the company, its affiliates or any other current or former employees,” he said.

Hapag-Lloyd increases rates from April

Hapag-Lloyd will implement the following General Rate Increase (GRI) in the eastbound trade from East Asia to all USA and Canada destinations as of April 1, 2019 (date of cargo receipt at origin).

This General Rate Increase will apply for all dry, reefer, non-operating reefer, tank, flat rack and open-top containers as follows:

East Asia to North America (USA and Canada)

  • USD 560 per all 20′ container types
  • USD 700 per all 40′ container types
