European ports join forces to cut ship emissions at berth

The ports of Rotterdam, Antwerp, Hamburg, Bremen and Haropa (including Le Havre) have agreed to work together aiming to reduce emissions from berthed vessels.

The five seaports in North-West Europe signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on 21 June to make a joint commitment to providing shore-based power facilities for container ships from 14,000TEU upwards by 2028.

HAROPA and Ports of Normandy work together for Brexit readiness

The Normandy channel ports, Le Havre for HAROPA and Caen-Ouistreham, Cherbourg and Dieppe for Ports of Normandy, will cooperate to boost the readiness of supply chain actors as the Brexit deadline, 1 January, draws near.

Stéphane Raison to lead port merger of Le Havre, Rouen and Paris

Stéphane Raison (pictured above), this week began his new role as the first director general of the ports of Le Havre, Rouen and Paris (HAROPA).

Port of Le Havre turns green with pollution control deals

Port of Le Havre has joined the “Getting to Zero” coalition which aims to reduce greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions from shipping by at least 50% by 2050, compared to 2008 levels.
