CMA CGM takes delivery of the first of 10 new next-gen feeder vessels

Hyundai Mipo Dockyard has delivered the CMA CGM Mermaid, the first in a series of ten 2,000 TEU LNG-fueled feeder vessels that, CMA CGM says, “herald a new generation of containerships.”

Maersk Tankers and Mitsui order mega ammonia carriers

With Japanese trading house Mitsui & Co. as its co-investor in the first four ships, Maersk Tankers has ordered up to ten 93,000 cubic meter capacity very large ammonia carriers (VLACs) at Hyundai Samho Heavy Industries in Korea. The vessels will be ABS classed.

Παραγγελία για τη ναυπήγηση δύο δεξαμενόπλοιων εξασφάλισε το κορυφαίο νοτιοκορεατικό ναυπηγείο HD KSOE (μητρική των Hyundai Heavy Industries, Hyundai Mipo Dockyard, Hyundai Samho Heavy Industries).

VIDEO: Maersk undocks first 16,000 TEU methanol-fueled containership

Maersk has released video showing the float out at Hyundai Heavy Industries of the first of its new series of 16,000 TEU methanol-fueled containerships. At the time it unveiled the design it said that it allows a 20% improved energy efficiency per transported container, when comparing to the industry average for vessels in this size.
