JAXPORT welcomes Crowley’s first Avance Class LNG-powered vessel

The Jacksonville Port Authority (JAXPORT) celebrated the arrival of Quetzal—Crowley’s newest LNG-powered container ship—on its maiden voyage.

With a capacity of up to 1,400 TEUs, Quetzal offers greater cargo space than the vessels previously used by Crowley in its Central American and Caribbean trade routes with the United States.

Powered by lower-emission LNG, the vessel marks a significant step toward greener maritime logistics.

JAXPORT completes vehicle berth expansion; construction of new berth underway

Contractors for the Jacksonville Port Authority (JAXPORT) have completed a year-long construction project to expand vehicle Berth 22 at the port’s Blount Island Marine Terminal.

The berth is the first of two vehicle berth projects in a US$60 million initiative to boost efficiencies and accommodate additional vehicle vessel calls. Now that the project is completed, Berth 22 can accommodate vehicle vessels of approximately 750 feet (230 metres) LOA (length overall).

ONE adds Jacksonville to EC2 service

Starting in February 2025, Ocean Network Express (ONE) will integrate the Jacksonville Port (JAXPORT) into its East Coast 2 (EC2) service, establishing a direct link between Jacksonville and five ports in Asia.

Florida legislators award JAXPORT US$23 million for crane upgrades

During the monthly Board of Directors meeting, Florida legislators presented JAXPORT with a US$23 million check for crane upgrades.

Southeast Toyota Distributors makes progress on new auto processing facility in Jacksonville

Contractors for Southeast Toyota Distributors, the largest independent distributor of Toyotas worldwide, are making significant progress on a new 31,587 m² auto processing facility at JAXPORT’s Blount Island Marine Terminal.
