Pam Transportation books operating loss in ‘extremely challenging’ Q1

Truckload carrier Pam Transportation Services announced an operating loss for a second straight period in what it described as an “extremely challenging” first quarter.

Pam (NASDAQ: PTSI) reported net earnings per share of 1 cent compared to 23 cents in the same period a year ago. The result was below a lone analyst’s 7-cent estimate.

JB Hunt, BNSF and GMXT to launch Mexico-to-Midwest intermodal service

BNSF, Northwest Seaport Alliance partner on Port of Tacoma rail hub

Western U.S. Class I rail carrier BNSF and the Northwest Seaport Alliance (NWSA) are working together to develop a rail hub at the Port of Tacoma that will be known as Tacoma South.

Surface Transportation Board receives earful on CP-KCS merger

The Surface Transportation Board has been receiving testimony on the proposed merger between Canadian Pacific and Kansas City Southern — and it’s been an earful.
