Four students at the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy (USMMA), Kings Point, N.Y., – Draygan Colonese, Elizabeth Kay, Charles Lausten and Gianna Russo – have been awarded Thomas B. Crowley Sr. Memorial Scholarships in recognition of their success and commitment to careers in the maritime industry. Jack Buono named Merchant Marine Academy superintendent

Jack Buono, a 1978 graduate of the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy who worked his way up from deck officer to president of Exxon Mobil affiliate SeaRiver Maritime Inc., will take command as the new superintendent at USMMA Nov. 9.

A new video sponsored by alumni of the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy commemorates the 75th anniversary of the service academy, and memorializes midshipmen of the academy who have died in service to the nation.
