Freedom-class Littoral Combat Ship Marinette Delivers to Navy

Lockheed Martin delivered the future USS Marinette (LCS-25) to the Navy at Fincantieri Marinette Marine shipyard, in Marinette, Wisc., the service announced in a Friday news release.

Marinette is the Navy’s 25th Littoral Combat Ship and is a Freedom-class variant. The ship is the second to be named after the Wisconsin city – the first a former tugboat (YTB-7910).

The ship is expected to be commissioned in June 2023, according to the Navy release....

F-35B Joint Strike Fighter Crashes in Texas

An F-35B Lighting II Joint Strike Fighter crashed on the runaway at Naval Air Station Joint Reserve Base in Fort Worth, Texas, Lockheed Martin said in a statement Thursday.

The pilot ejected safely, according to the statement. It is unclear if the pilot was a service member or a Lockheed employee. Lockheed manufactures the F-35B for the Marines.
