In the past, the annual choreographed contract negotiations between ocean carriers and shippers were a bit like a high school prom. You didn’t particularly care for your date, but you didn’t want to miss the dance.

Maersk Essen nears LA more than 6 weeks after container loss

The Maersk Essen, which lost 750 containers in mid-January in the North Pacific, is now anchored in Southern California’s San Pedro Bay waiting to berth at APM Terminals Pier 400 at the Port of Los Angeles.

ONE Apus and Maersk Eindhoven may be back on course this month

The 14,000 teu ONE Apus, which suffered a catastrophic container collapse in November that saw over 1,800 containers lost overboard and thousands of others damaged, could resume its journey to the US west coast by the middle of the month.

Surveyors and salvors on board as Maersk Eindhoven arrives at Yokohama

Maersk has confirmed that the 13,200 Maersk Eindhoven, which last week lost 260 containers overboard, is on course for the APM Terminals facility in Yokohama, for repairs.
“Maersk Eindhoven is currently in Japanese waters, awaiting clearance for transit into APM Terminals Yokohama on 25 February,” an advisory from the carrier said, explaining that the next three days in Japan are a public holiday.
