Port Klang’s ambitions to become a TOP10 port

PUTRAJAYA: The Transport Ministry is working to enhance Port Klang’s operations efficiency to make it one of the top 10 best ports in the world, its minister Anthony Loke said today.

Port Klang is currently ranked the world’s 12th best container port.

Oil tanker detained for illegal STS transfer in Malaysian port

Malaysian authorities detained an oil tanker over suspicions of committing illegal ship-to-ship (STS) fuel transfer at the Tanjung Pelepas Port near Gelang Patah.

The ship was detained in the morning hours of 3 October while conducting the STS transfer, for failing to obtain permit for the activity from the Marine Department director, under the Section 491B (1)(k) of the Merchant Shipping Ordinance 1952.

Transport Ministry told to clear container backlog at Labuan Port to prevent surcharge

PUTRAJAYA, Oct 8 — The Transport Ministry is doubling down to clear a congestion of shipping containers at the Labuan Port that would ultimately raise the prices of goods in the Federal Territory.
