2M Alliance revises voyage numbers on Asia – Europe services

The world’s largest container shipping alliance, 2M Alliance, has announced the revision of voyage numbers on sailings serving Asia to Europe network, which will be effective from the middle of January.

MSC changes rotation on Neuatl to Mexico service

The Swiss carrier Mediterranean Shipping Company (MSC) has announced the revision in the rotation of its Neuatl to Mexico service, connecting Europe with Mexico, which will take effect in early January 2022.

“The revised rotation will enable us to offer faster connections between the United Kingdom (UK), Belgium, Germany and Mexico, and it will also provide better schedule reliability in the North Europe network,” stated MSC.

MSC sets increased prices from Israel to Canada and Mexico

Mediterranean Shipping Company (MSC) has published fresh increases in its freight rates for sailings from Israel to Canada and Mexico.

The Swiss/Italian shipping line will push up its Freight All Kinds (FAK) rates, for cargoes transferred from the port of Haifa, to the Canadian ports of Vancouver and Montreal, as well as to the ports of Veracruz and Guaymas in Mexico.

MSC starts new in-transit cargo service to Gulf countries

Mediterranean Shipping Company (MSC) has announced a new overland service that will provide a shorter journey for cargo bound for Saudi Arabia and other Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries via King Abdullah Port.

MSC announces new surcharges from Europe to America

The Swiss box carrier MSC will apply new Peak Season Surcharges (PSS), which will take effect by the end of November, for cargoes transferred from Europe to America.

MSC to impose rate increases from Italy to America

MSC, the second-largest shipping line in the world, will apply new Freight All Kinds (FAK) increases for sailings travelling from Italy to America.

MSC buying streak prolonged with PIL ship acquisition

MSC has continued its ship acquisition streak, purchasing a Panamax vessel from Pacific International Lines, which has been rightsizing its fleet.

The 2010-built 4,250TEU ship has been renamed MSC Langsar (ex-Kota Langsar) after being sold in mid-March but joined MSC’s fleet only in May. The purchase price was not disclosed but VesselsValue shows that MSC Langsar was valued at US$22.86 million at the time it was sold.

Minsheng books 16,000TEU pair at DSIC

Minsheng Financial Leasing (MSFL) has ordered a pair of 16,000TEU container ships from Dalian Shipbuilding Industry Company (DSIC), the latter’s parent China State Shipbuilding Corporation (CSSC) announced on 7 May.

While MSFL, the leasing unit of China Minsheng Bank, would only state that the ships will be bareboat-chartered to a European liner operator, CSSC said that the vessels are sister units of an earlier 13-ship order by Mediterranean Shipping Company.
