Increased rail link between Netherlands and Poland

The Dutch logistics service provider Schavemaker is increasing the cargo-handling capacity of its rail terminal to the southwest of the Polish city of Wrocław by extending two railway tracks. The company has also announced a new direct rail link between Southern Poland and Moerdijk.

Gate for world’s largest sea lock to arrive in two months

The doors of the world’s largest sea lock in IJmuiden are heading to the Netherlands. On the night of 23 October the doors left from South Korea and they are expected to arrive in the Netherlands in about two months. The doors are being transferred on a heavy-load carrier.

In total, three doors are being transported, of which two are operational lock gates, for which the door seal is now being installed in IJmuiden and a reserve lock door.
