Tanker Docking Sees New Saldanha Crude Oil Terminal Commissioned During Lockdown

Transnet National Ports Authority (TNPA) at the Port of Saldanha recently led the marine operation of safely and skilfully navigating into the port Oiltanking MOGS Saldanha (RF) (Pty) Ltd’s (OTMS) very first tanker vessel, MT Sonangol Cabinda.  The vessel, on its maiden call to the port, brought in approximately 143,000 cbm (900,000 barrels) of crude oil as part of the commissioning of OTMS’s new crude oil terminal in Saldanha on Saturday, 17 April 2020.

A Step Closer to Port of Ngqura Liquid Bulk Dream

Sasol Invests in First South African-Owned Chemical Tanker

Nduna Maritime and Sasol have entered into a R400 million enterprise and supplier development (ESD) funding agreement through the Sasol Siyakha Trust, in South Africa’s first locally-owned maritime vessel. This is Sasol Siyakha’s single largest funding agreement to date.

New LPG Storage Tanks Arrive at Port of Richards Bay

The Port of Richards Bay welcomed the arrival of four new 5650-ton liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) storage bullets on Thursday, 12 September on board the vessel XIN LU.

The bullets are for the R1 billion, 22600-ton capacity mounded LPG facility which is being developed at the port by Bidvest Tank Terminals (BTT), a unit of the Bidvest Group. The terminal will store LPG on behalf of independent LPG specialist Petredec, which ships the fuel from the US and the Middle East.
