Postal Service ending reseller program could reduce shipping costs for some

Mailman pulling boxes out of truck

The U.S. Postal Service receives plenty of criticism whenever it makes service changes, but for small and midsize businesses, an upcoming change may actually turn into something positive.

The state of last mile amid slowing e-commerce demand

White delivery van on highway

The challenges of the past few years have strained last-mile delivery networks. And just as they have started maturing with new entrants and efficiencies unlocked, e-commerce started slowing from its pandemic roll. Where exactly it stops, no one is quite sure, but last-mile providers don’t have time to wait. They must service the now and build for the future.

“Last-mile capacity still feels tight,” Jay Sackos, vice president of business development for Dolly, told Modern Shipper. Dolly...

Seko’s Brian Bourke: Freight forwarder is quickly becoming a parcel forwarder

As e-commerce has seemingly taken over the world, it has forced traditional freight forwarders like Seko Logistics to rethink their logistics networks. When COVID-19 upended the world even further, it accelerated that thought process.

Brian Bourke, chief growth officer of Seko, spoke with Emma Cosgrove, senior transportation reporter for Business Insider, on Wednesday at the Home Delivery World 2021 conference at the Pennsylvania Convention Center in Philadelphia. Bourke’s big takeaway: The...

The combination of these consumer behaviors has resulted in a swift uptick in parcel volumes.

While some shippers were...
