Container drayage TMS provider PortPro raises $12M

PortPro, a TMS provider to container drayage and intermodal carriers, announced it raised $12 million in a Series A funding round led by Avenue Growth Partners.

The proceeds from the round will allow the New Jersey-based company to expand capabilities on its technology platform.

PortPro introduces new drayage TMS

PortPro Technologies has introduced a next-generation web-based transportation management system (TMS) built for drayage carriers.

The drayOS platform serves as an end-to-end operating system, allowing carriers to automate time-consuming, and costly, back-office operations.

If carriers can’t pick up containers on time, they face demurrage fines, PortPro CEO Michael Mecca explained. And if they’re not able to return containers on time, they face per diem fines.
