Refrigerated carrier R.E. Garrison buys Georgia produce hauler

Alabama-based refrigerated carrier R.E. Garrison Trucking said Monday it acquired fellow temperature-controlled fleet Boaty’s Transport.

Financial terms of the transaction were not provided.

Located in Jackson, Georgia, Boaty’s primarily hauls produce throughout the U.S. Southeast with a fleet of more than 50 tractors and 80 refrigerated trailers. Boaty’s will continue to operate under its current name.

Refrigerated carrier Marten posts record results in Q2

Refrigerated carrier Marten Transport achieved another record financial performance during the second quarter of 2022. After the market closed on Monday, the company reported revenue and earnings per share well ahead of consensus expectations.

Second-quarter consolidated revenue of $330 million was 42% higher year over year and 12% better than the consensus estimate. Diluted EPS of 39 cents was 13 cents higher y/y and 6 cents better than analysts had forecast.

KLLM Transport Services, one of the nation’s largest temperature-controlled carriers, announced the acquisition of Quest Global on Thursday.

Based in Cartersville, Georgia, Quest Global provides refrigerated truckload services to a client list that includes “many Fortune 500 companies.” The carrier specializes in expedited transportation with coast-to-coast coverage utilizing driver teams.

Temperature-controlled carrier Hirschbach acquires John Christner Trucking

Hirschbach and JCT form national temperature-controlled truckload network

Refrigerated carrier Hirschbach announced Wednesday the acquisition of John Christner Trucking (JCT). The deal will form one of the biggest temperature-controlled fleets in the nation at more than 3,000 trucks (800 at JCT), 5,000 trailers and total revenue exceeding $1 billion.

By comparison, publicly traded refrigerated carrier Marten Transport (NASDAQ: MRTN) generated just shy of $1 billion in revenue during 2021 with a fleet of 3,200 units.

Refrigerated hauler KLLM announces largest pay hike for drivers

KLLM latest to hike driver pay

Temperature-controlled truckload carrier KLLM Transport Services announced Tuesday its largest pay increase for drivers in the company’s more than 55 years in service. Over-the-road company drivers will see an increase of almost 33% to per-mile pay while regional company drivers and independent contractors leasing with KLLM will see a pay increase of 10% to 16%.

TFI acquires Missouri trucking company D&D

TFI International has acquired Missouri trucking company D&D Sexton in a deal that expands the temperature-controlled trucking business of the Canadian firm’s U.S. carrier CFI.

The acquisition, announced Monday, adds a fleet of over 120 tractors and more than 150 drivers. TFI (NYSE:TFII) did not disclose the price but said D&D had revenues of over $25 million.
