After a weekend of severe storms and tornadoes in the Plains, another round is likely Monday. Truckers will have to be on their toes.

The National Weather Service received more than 500 reports of tornadoes, damaging winds and large hail Friday through Sunday, most of them in parts of the heartland.

Severe storms brewing for weekend truckers in heartland

Truckers may hit multiple rounds of severe weather in the nation’s heartland this weekend, with more possible next week.

At least two low-pressure systems with connected cold fronts will move through the Plains and Midwest over the next few days, with a third system developing Monday. Tornado threat returning to South for 3rd week in a row

For the third consecutive week, truckers will have to dodge severe storm winds and likely tornadoes across the South.

Tornado threat returns to South after deadly storms last week

For the second week in a row, truckers will face another threat of tornadoes in the Plains and South as an approaching system intensifies.
