ESL’s new bulkers experience technical problems

Serious technical problems with cranes slowed down the deployment of ESL Shipping’s new LNG-fueled bulk carriers, the Finland-based shipping company, part of the ASPO Group, stated. The problems in the conventional mechanics of high-power cranes, which are subject to warranty, have significantly interfered with the efficient operations of both vessels.

The two handy size dry bulk cargo vessels Haaga and Viikki, are the first of their kind to be LNG-ran and were delivered to the company in 2018.

Shipping companies begin operations in Cyprus, reflecting its growing appeal

Cyprus’ deputy minister for shipping stated that the number of companies that are developing their headquarters in the small east Mediterranean island nation has almost doubled in the last six years. Port Augusta to restart commercial shipping

Port Augusta in Australia will continue commercial shipping after 50 years, as CU-River now owns the former power station site. CU-River plans to turn the site into a bulk commodity and a transhippment port facility.
