Uber Connect expands into returns shipping

Uber Connect, the local package delivery business of Uber Technologies, Inc. (NYSE: UBER), said Wednesday it has begun offering a service to handle returns.

Under the service, called Return a Package, an Uber driver will pick up sealed and prepaid packages at a customer location and drop them off at a local post office or FedEx Corp. or UPS Inc. location. Vice likely to tighten around UPS shippers in 2022

Evidence is mounting that 2022 could be an annus horribilis for UPS Inc. shippers.

Atlanta-based UPS (NYSE: UPS) said last week it will raise its 2022 U.S. tariff, or published, rates by 5.9%, effective the day after Christmas. UPS pushes back residential delivery commitment time for Next-Day Air Service

UPS Inc. has pushed back its delivery commitment times for Next Day Air service to certain residential locations to noon from 10:30 a.m., effective October 18, the company said in a note on its website.
