European shipowners welcome EU-Singapore trade agreement

European shipowners are pleased with the signature of the EU-Singapore trade agreement, as it represents EU and Singapore’s ‘commitment to free, fair and rules-based trade at a time that protectionism is on the rise’.

IBBC ‘extremely concerned’ over recent fuel contamination

The Institute of Bunker Buyers and Consumers (IBBC) is still ‘extremely concerned’ about the outbreak of contaminated fuel, which originated in the US earlier this year, and then spread further to Panama Canal, Singapore and the far East.

First International Maritime Cyber Centre of Excellence opens in Singapore

Finnish technology group Wärtsilä announced the opening of an International Maritime Cyber Centre of Excellence (IMCCE) in Singapore, on 16 October. The IMCCE is the first of its type for the marine industry, founded by Wärtsilä and Templar Executives, to provide a focal point for the industry to help drive the cyber awareness and response to cyber incidents.
