Boxship sinks in Red Sea after major fire

Following a major fire incident, the 1,853 TEU vessel TSS Pearl reportedly sunk approximately 300 kilometres southeast of Port Sudan, a port city in eastern Sudan and the capital of the state of the Red Sea.

According to cargo insurer WK Webster, several containers are reported to be floating at the site of the sinking, but it is currently unconfirmed if any of the vessel superstructures remain visible.

ONE vessel suffers stack collapse, losing 30 boxes into the North Atlantic

Singapore-based Ocean Network Express (ONE) has reported that its 13,900 teu vessel Madrid Bridge suffered a stack collapse, with, according to latest reports, at least 30 containers lost overboard.
Cargo claims firm WK Webster reported: “It is not currently clear how extensive the collapse of stow is, but it is reported that the vessel lost at least 30 containers overboard.”

Storm-hit Zim Kingston set for move to port for discharge of cargo

Danaos-owned Zim-chartered vessel Zim Kingston, which lost 109 containers amid a cargo fire off the coast of Vancouver in October, is set to leave its mooring on Constance Bank, near Vancouver Island, tomorrow.

Forwarders should move quickly on Ever Given GA, but legal wrangle looms

The British International Freight Association (BIFA) has urged forwarders with cargo on board the Ever Given to begin General Average (GA) procedures with their shippers.

‘Several hundred’ boxes lost overboard in new transpacific vessel casualty
