Quand on les rencontre, à l’entrée du lycée professionnel maritime Pierre Loti de Paimpol (Côtes-d’Armor), on se rend compte très vite que les deux Océane, en classe ensemble depuis deux ans en formation CAP matelot, n’ont ni la langue dans leur poche, avec un franc-parler qui leur est propre, ni l’habitude de s’en laisser conter. KfW IPEX-Bank to finance AIDA Cruises’ third LNG-powered ship

German lender KfW IPEX-Bank has agreed to finance the third liquefied natural gas (LNG) cruise ship for AIDA Cruises.

The German bank will provide the funding to AIDA Cruises’ parent company Carnival.

Overall financing is supported by export credit insurance issued by the German Government (Hermes cover).

The Commercial Interest Reference Rate (CIRR) for ships, as determined by the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD), is applicable.

Ulstein to build new polar vessel for Lindblad Expeditions

Norwegian shipbuilder and ship designer Ulstein has signed an agreement to build a new polar vessel for Lindblad Expeditions Holdings.

The new vessel will increase Lindblad’s National Geographic polar fleet to four ships.

To be designed as the sister ship to the earlier National Geographic Endurance vessel, the vessel will be stabilised with the highest ice-class of any purpose-built passenger vessel.
