Sweden has requested assistance from Norway to fight a fire that began on a cargo vessel that was transporting timber off the west coast of Sweden as it is running the risk of spreading, authorities reported.
So far, severe weather conditions had gone against the efforts of putting out the fire. The Swedish coast guard said that it was hoping to tow Almirante Storni to calm conditions, or to a port.
