Bosphorus Traffic Suspended Temporarily After Grain Vessel Runs Aground

Boat traffic on the Bosphorus has been suspended temporarily after a vessel loaded with grains reportedly ran aground owing to an unexpected breakdown off Türkeli, the Directorate General of Turkey’s Coastal Safety reported.

The 190-meter bulk carrier named ‘Annitta’ has been successfully towed under the prompt coordination of the Istanbul Vessel Traffic Services Center, per a statement by the Anatolia news agency.

After towing, the vessel was anchored in the Sariyer district, Istanbul.
