Port congestion in Colombo continues to lower transshipment volumes

TRANSSHIPMENT volumes declined for the second straight month in June at the Port of Colombo as some services rerouted to avoid the heavy congestion at the port. In June, the transshipment volumes handled by the port declined by 5.1 per cent year on year (YoY) to 516,742 TEU, after recording the first decline in the previous month for this year.
