Bocomm Leasing Signs $600m Contract for Boxship Quartet

Chinese leasing house Bank of Communications Financial Leasing (Bocomm Leasing) has entered into shipbuilding contracts with CSSC-affiliated China Shipbuilding Trading, Jiangnan Shipyard and Hudong Zhonghua Shipbuilding for the construction of four 24,000 teu mega boxships, reports Splash247.

Strategic agreement

Under the contracts, Jiangnan Shipyard and Hudong Zhonghua will each built two vessels. Delivery of the vessels are expected in 2023. The total value of the order is around $600m.

HMM’s 12th 24,000-TEU to Carry Cargo

  • Contract signed in 2018 fulfilled, and all massive vessels carrying cargo. 
  • HMM expects to take delivery of eight 16,000-TEU container ships in the second quarter of 2021.
