VIDEO: First large green methanol box ship Ane Mærsk set to enter service next month

Set to enter service next month, the world’s first large methanol-enabled container vessel has been named Ane Mærsk in a ceremony held at HD Hyundai Heavy Industries’ Ulsan, South Korea, shipyard. The 350-meter, 16,592 TEU vessel is named after Ane Mærsk Mc-Kinney Uggla, the chair of the A.P. Moller Foundation and A.P. Moller Holding. Her eldest granddaughter served as godmother and christened the vessel by breaking a champagne bottle over the bow.

A.P. Moller Foundation donates US$45 million to accelerate zero carbon shipping transition

A.P. Moller Foundation decided to donate US$45,19 million to the Mærsk Mc-Kinney Møller Center for Zero Carbon Shipping (the Center).

The Center is a non-profit organisation and funding includes co-financing from strategic partners, government resources, charitable funding, and commercial activities.

This is the second donation, after the US$56,48 million received by the Center as start-up funding when it launched in June 2020.
