Set to enter service next month, the world’s first large methanol-enabled container vessel has been named Ane Mærsk in a ceremony held at HD Hyundai Heavy Industries’ Ulsan, South Korea, shipyard. The 350-meter, 16,592 TEU vessel is named after Ane Mærsk Mc-Kinney Uggla, the chair of the A.P. Moller Foundation and A.P. Moller Holding. Her eldest granddaughter served as godmother and christened the vessel by breaking a champagne bottle over the bow.

Maersk family is getting bigger with wind firm acquisition

A.P. Moller Holding, which controls Danish shipping giant A.P. Moller-Maersk will acquire Danish wind turbine supplier KK Group, it said on Wednesday (July 10), in a first step into the renewable energy industry.

Maersk dismisses Danske Bank chairman

COPENHAGEN – Danske Bank’s largest shareholder, the Maersk family, has ousted the lender’s chairman after a money laundering scandal that has also forced out its chief executive.

A.P. Moller Holding, which controls about 21 percent of the share capital in the bank, has nominated Karsten Dybvad, who currently heads the Confederation of Danish Industry, to replace Ole Andersen as chairman of Denmark’s largest bank.
