Steel cutting takes place for AAL’s first-of-six new multi-purpose vessels

A traditional steel-cutting ceremony took place earlier this week for the first of AAL’s six new Super B-Class 32K DWT heavy lift MPVs at the CSSC Huangpu Wenchong Shipyard in Guangzhou, China.

The six vessels are expected to hit the water in 2024.

Representing AAL was the General Manager of AAL China, Jack Zhou and representing sister company, Columbia Shipmanagement (CSM), was Project Manager Rangel Vassilev.

Heavy-lift operator AAL buys two ships and plans to build four more

Specialist heavy lift project carrier, AAL Shipping (AAL) has bought two 33,000 deadweight heavy lift ships and has given an update on its newbuilding plans.

The two newly-bought vessels are, the ‘AAL Mars’ and the ‘AAL Merkur’. The vessels have been serving within AAL’s operating fleet worldwide on a commercial management basis.
