Amazon rolls out deferred shipping service

Amazon.com Inc. (NASDAQ: AMZN) has rolled out its stand-alone shipping service, Amazon Shipping, to 15 major markets.

The service, launched Wednesday, will initially target large shippers that use Amazon’s services but also sell and fulfill through their own channels. Under the service, the company will provide pickups at warehouses and handle the shipments to final delivery.

Amazon rolls out end-to-end global supply chain service

Amazon.com Inc. said Tuesday that it is rolling out an end-to-end global supply chain service across all channels called Supply Chain by Amazon.

Under the service, Amazon (NASDAQ: AMZN) will pick up inventory from manufacturing facilities worldwide, ship it across borders, handle customs clearance and ground transportation, manage inventory replenishment and handle final delivery.

The service is available to shippers that aren’t in Amazon retail channels, the company said.

Family sues Amazon after fatal truck crash

The family of a Maine commercial fisherman who was struck and killed by an Amazon delivery driver in July 2020 has filed a negligence lawsuit against the online retail giant.

Amazon to levy fuel and inflation surcharge on sellers

Amazon.com Inc. said Wednesday that it will add a 5% fuel and inflation surcharge on sellers using its fulfillment and delivery services, the first time in the company’s history it has imposed a fuel levy.
