Global Ship Lease announces new charter

Global Ship Lease, Inc. (the “Company”), a containership charter owner, on Nov. 13 announced a new time charter with ANL, a wholly owned subsidiary of CMA CGM, for the 2003-built, 2,207 TEU containership GSL Keta (formerly Delmas Keta). The new charter, commencing on or around November 20, 2018, is for a period of between seven and 10 months (at charterer’s option) at a rate of $8,450 per day, up from $7,800 per day under the preceding charter.

ANL, Low Sulphur Surcharge

Since 1st October 2018, the 0,50% sulphur limit is applicable to the ports of Shanghai and Ningbo in the People’s Republic of China. To ensure the sustainability & reliability of its services in a challenging environment, ANL will implement the following low sulphur surcharge as per following schedule:

Changes in port rotations

The 2018 APEC meeting will be held in Port Moresby in November. The International Berth at the Motukea Terminal is being allocated for a cruise ship to accommodate APEC delegates and not vessels.

The Berth at the Motukea International Terminal will not be available for container vessels from 12th November until 18th November and as a consequence of this, ANL has made the decision to change the rotation of the vessel to avoid possible extended delays. ANL’s revised dates due to collision

The ANL Geelong V094N/095S was involved in a collision with a ferry (MV Su Zhou Hao) while departing Shanghai on 2nd October while under pilotage.

No injuries or fatalities have been reported on either vessel and there is no cargo damage expected with only minor damages to the vessel itself.

Due to the incident, consequent surveys and clearance from Port Authority, the vessel has departed Shanghai 2 days later than initially scheduled.

ANL about a port change and a delay

The Jazan V8135 will change port rotation and now call Sydney prior to Melbourne in order to mitigate delays from port congestion.
