SIDMAR Upgrades It’s Navigation Training Simulators

Kongsberg Digital has signed a contract with the Panama Canal Authority (ACP) to upgrade and extend the K-Sim Navigation simulators based in SIDMAR; the Center for Simulation, Research and Maritime Development of the Panama Canal Authority. reports Kongsberg.

Improved simulation

Equipped with the new technology, the Panama City-based center will be able to include multiple vessels in training scenarios and extend the realism of the simulator training provided for pilots and tug masters.

Spanish Owner Orders New Tug To Handle Larger Ships

Remolques Gijoneses has ordered another escort tug from a Turkish owner and builder to handle larger ships, says an article published in Riviera Maritime Media.

About The Tug

The harbour tug will provide towage in the Spanish port of Gijón, with delivery from Med Marine in 2021.

Med Marine will build this tug at its Eregli Shipyard, where it has 185,000 m² construction area and 30,000 m² enclosed space.

Here Comes the Technically Advanced Oil Spill Recovery Vessel !!!

A steel cutting ceremony marked the start of construction of a multipurpose oil spill response and towage vessel for Kuwait Oil Co.
The NB125 vessel will be used by Kuwait Oil Co (KOC) for towage and oil spill recovery in national ports and the Middle East Gulf with completion expected in Q4 2020.

Turkish group Uzmar Shipyard has started constructing a large multipurpose offshore oil recovery, support and towing vessel for Middle East operations, reports Riviera Maritime Media.
