Two more IWS CSOVs will feature Kongsberg Maritime equipment packages

Oslo-headquartered Integrated Wind Solutions (IWS) has ordered two more Skywalker class walk-to-work commissioning service operations vessels (CSOVs). The vessels are scheduled for delivery in first half 2024 from China Merchants Industry, Hong Kong. Currently IWS has two identical vessels on order for delivery in 2023 and option agreements for up to two additional vessels for potential second-half 2024 delivery.

RV Polarstern Successfully Circumnavigated Antarctica’s Mega-Iceberg

The German Research Vessel Polarstern has made a remarkable circumnavigation of Antarctica’s latest mega-iceberg, reports BBC.

The achieved feat

The ship sailed a complete circuit of the 1,290-sq-km (500 sq miles) frozen block, known as A74, at the weekend. To do so, RV Polarstern had to navigate the very narrow channel that separates A74 from the Brunt Ice Shelf – the frozen floating platform from which the berg broke two weeks ago.
