BIMCO publishes ship financing forms for uninterrupted use of vessels

BIMCO has published two standard Quiet Enjoyment Letters (QELs), the first standard form QELs available to the industry, to offer a tool that can ensure the charterers’ uninterrupted use of a ship if the owner defaults under the financing facility.

BIMCO appoints new deputy secretary general

BIMCO raises awareness for removal of single-use plastic bottles from ships

BIMCO selects Maersk veteran as its new Chief Shipping Analyst

Baltic and International Maritime Council (BIMCO), the world’s largest direct-membership organisation for shipowners, charterers, shipbrokers and agents, has appointed Niels Rasmussen as its Chief Shipping Analyst who will take over his duties on 3 January 2022.

71% of 2021 newbuild boxships to be scrubber-fitted

Baltic and International Maritime Council (BIMCO) reported that 71% of the year-to-date ordered container ships, and particularly 117 out of 168 with a capacity of at least 11,800TEU, will be delivered with a scrubber fitted directly from the shipyard.
