First direct box train from China arrives at German terminal

The German JadeWeserPort Wilhelmshaven freight village welcomed on 13 July the first direct train from the Chinese city of Hefei.

The train departed Hefei on 25 June and was handling a volume of approximately 100TEU, with goods such as household appliances, textiles and electrical goods, which will be distributed from Wilhelmshaven to the hinterland.

BRI boosts Hamburg’s logistics role

The Port of Hamburg has become the largest sea-rail combined port in Europe thanks to the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI).

North China port sees robust trade in H1

The port in northern China’s Tianjin Municipality saw 159.3 billion yuan (22.7 billion U.S. dollars) of seaborne trade with countries and regions participating in the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) in the first half of this year.

Tianjin Customs data showed the trade volume grew 9.7 percent in H1 year on year, among which imports reached 52.15 billion yuan, up 27.9 percent year on year, the customs said Monday, August 11.

Ghana eyes China-proposed BRI

Ghana’s eyes are firmly fixed on the China-proposed Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) to achieve a major part of its infrastructure development objectives, chief executive officer of the Ghana Investment Promotion Center, Yoofi Grant told Xinhua.
