Cruise vessel returns to Ijmuiden after hitting something in water

As local sources report, the Columbus cruise ship unexpectedly changed its course and docked at the Felison Cruise Terminal in IJmuiden. The cruise vessel had departed from port of Amsterdam.

Divers find 13th body after Danube collision, 15 remain missing

At least 13 people are confirmed dead after the fatal collision of two tourist boats on the Danube River, Budapest, on the evening hours of 29th May. Divers discovered the 13th body in the wreckage of one of the pleasure boats, Wednesday. Another 15 people remain missing, while seven were rescued.

NTSB: Barge’s anchor damaging underwater pipelines

The US National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) issued an investigation report on the anchor contact of the Articulated Tug and Barge ‘Clyde S VanEnkevort/ Erie Trader’ with underwater pipelines which resulted in an oil spill and significant damage.

Cruise ship’s lifeboats stuck during lifting operations

According to local sources, the Costa Mediterranea cruise ship experienced a technical problem while docked at the port of Stavanger, Norway. Specifically, the cruise ship suffered problems during an exercise routine, as two lifeboats were stuck, as the seafarers tried to lift them up.

Mainly, the technical problem was seen in a davit of the port side, as they couldn’t hoist the two lifeboats. Therefore, a floating crane was deployed to place the lifeboats back and secure them.
