Former subsidiary of bankrupt Celadon acquired by US, Mexican investors

Luminus Management LLC has acquired Mexico-based carrier Jaguar Transportation, a former subsidiary of bankrupt carrier Celadon, in an all-cash stock purchase transaction.

The acquisition includes over 775 tractor-trailers and five freight facilities throughout Mexico, according to a news release. Jaguar Transportation, a trucking company focused on cross-border trade with the U.S., is based in Monterrey, Mexico.

Ex-Celadon trucking executives settle case with SEC

The Securities and Exchange Commission has agreed to settle an accounting fraud case against two former Celadon Group Inc. executives accused of engaging in a scheme to hide millions in losses before the Indianapolis-based trucking company filed for bankruptcy and ceased operations in 2019.

Former Celadon trucking executives Eric Meek and Bobby Peavler agreed to a settlement with the SEC following a Jan. 30 conference, according to court filings.

Indiana appeals court moves Celadon case to Delaware

The Court of Appeals of Indiana has reversed a decision against four former Celadon executives being sued by TA Dispatch LLC, which must now refile its case in Delaware.

In March 2021, TA Dispatch sued four former Celadon Group executives, including CEO Paul Svindland, after a 2019 agreement to purchase assets from Celadon fell apart. Indianapolis-headquartered Celadon filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy in December 2019.

Feds drop fraud charges against Celadon trucking executives

Federal prosecutors on Wednesday dropped a fraud case alleging two former executives at Celadon Group devised a scheme that cost the truckload and logistics company’s shareholders more than $62 million.

The government said in its motion to dismiss nine counts of fraud each for former Celadon CEO William Eric Meek and former CFO Bobby Lee Peavler that “the indictment should be dismissed with prejudice, in the interest of justice.”

Jaguar Transport acquires Celadon’s Mexico trucking operation

Bankrupt Celadon Group has sold its Mexican businesses to Jaguar Transport Inc. in a deal worth $6.8 million, according to court documents filed Monday.

The most recent court filings are part of the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of Delaware hearings for the trucking company, which filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy in December.
