CMA CGM’s Saadé inks collaboration deal with European parcel delivery firm

Bosses of CMA CGM, La Poste and CEVA Logistics, Rodolphe Saadé, Philippe Wahl and Mathieu Friedberg respectively, signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to establish a closer business relationship between La Poste’s subsidiary GeoPost and CEVA Logistics.

The MoU was signed in Paris on 7 February and its purpose is to capitalise on the companies’ respective expertise, services, and areas of operation in parcel delivery, transportation and storage.

CMA CGM, CEVA Logistics launch new intermodal service from Italy to Europe

CMA CGM and its subsidiary CEVA Logistics have started a new weekly intermodal service from the port of Trieste in Italy to Central and Eastern Europe.

Global logistics giant Ceva cutting 146 jobs in Ohio

Global giant Ceva Logistics has notified 146 workers that it will permanently shutter half of its facility in Groveport, Ohio, starting in June.

Ceva Logistics, which is owned by French container carrier CMA CGM, said in a letter to the Ohio Department of Job and Family Services on Tuesday that it will close the east portion of the facility, located near Columbus, by Sept. 30. An active Ceva business will continue operations on the west side of the Groveport facility.

CMA CGM takes over GEFCO proceeding with acquisition strategy

The CMA CGM Group is acquiring nearly 100% of the capital of GEFCO, a European automotive logistics provider and international expert in the multimodal supply chain.

The acquisition has been submitted to competition authorities for approval, but the European Commission authorised CMA CGM to take over the stakes of GEFCO immediately, as part of a special procedure. Kodiak hauling autonomous loads for Ceva from Texas to Oklahoma City

Kodiak Robotics is hauling freight autonomously from Texas to Oklahoma City as part of a partnership with third-party logistics giant Ceva Logistics.

CMA CGM to acquire majority stake in Colis Privé

CMA CGM has entered into a preliminary agreement to acquire a 51% stake from the HOPPS Group in the Colis Privé Group, a home and relay parcel delivery company.

Completion of the deal is contingent upon clearance from the competition authorities, with the final terms subject to consultation of the various relevant employee representative bodies, according to a statement.
