CJ Logistics signs up ONE as strategic partner

CJ Logistics, South Korea’s largest third-party logistics provider, signed a collaboration agreement with Ocean Network Express (ONE) on 3 August, a month after sealing similar pacts with other carriers such as Evergreen Marine Corporation and SM Line.

The liner operators hope to increase cargo volumes through CJ Logistics’ network, while the latter aims to secure competitive freight rates.

SM Line, CJ Logistics to expand Transpacific reefer shipping

South Korean liner operator SM Line and compatriot third-party logistics group CJ Logistics will work together to expand their logistics businesses in North America, after signing a memorandum of understanding (MoU) on 21 November.

The two companies will focus on the ocean freight and trucking of reefers, providing cold chain services between South Korea’s Busan port and the US West Coast.

Seoul steps in to sort parcel deliveries as CJ Logistics’ strike goes on

South Korea’s Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport (MOLIT) is taking urgent action to deliver over 200,000 stranded parcels resulting from a prolonged strike by subcontracted couriers of the country’s largest logistics company, CJ Logistics.

Busan Port considers volume-linked terminal rentals

Busan Port Authority (BPA), aware of the challenges facing liner operators, could offer volume-linked rental rates to terminal operators from 2022, ahead of the opening of the opening of Phases 2-5 and 2-4 of Busan New Port (BNP).

Currently, a fixed rent is paid based on the area of the wharf, regardless of the amount of loading and unloading.

The volume-linked rental system could reduce the terminal operators’ financial burdens and discourage them from engaging in a price war by cutting fees.

Korean logistics firm selects CyberLogitec solution

Korean freight company, CJ Logistics, has signed a contract to deploy OPUS Logistics, provided by CyberLogitec, maritime, port/terminal and logistics operations software, throughout their overseas subsidiaries and network.
