On Wednesday morning, July 22, RLS Logistics, a family-owned cold chain warehouse operator headquartered in New Jersey, announced an ambitious plan to build out a national network of family-owned cold chain facilities.

RLS Logistics was founded in 1968 and offers a diverse array of cold chain solutions, including truckload and less-than-truckload (LTL) transportation, warehousing, packaging, re-packing and e-commerce fulfillment.

Cold Chain Update: Meat production lags despite food-service uptick

While the COVID-19 threat continues to linger, the ongoing pandemic hasn’t stopped producers and shippers from thinking ahead – many are optimistic that business will slowly heat up in the summer months. Cold storage remains hot; Americold reiterates guidance

On its earnings call with analysts and investors, food supply chain warehouse operator Americold Realty Trust (NYSE: COLD) said it isn’t seeing much scarcity throughout the cold food chain.

Asked about potential protein shortages, management said they have “a lot of full warehouses of chicken” and that some of the reports of impending meat shortages have been a little overdone.
